Soviet Cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov Signed Postcard, PSA/DNA Slabbed & Graded
A period color postcard of Soviet Cosmonaut Konstantin Feoktistov (1926-2009), signed in Russian Cyrillic letters in the upper left corner along a vertical orientation. The postcard shows Feoktistov wearing a dark suit and the star-shaped Hero of Soviet Union medal. The postcard was printed in Moscow in 1973. Publication information appears on the blank reverse. PSA/DNA graded Ex 5. The postcard measures 3.5" x 5.5" while the slab measures 4.375" x 7.125."
Feoktistov, a space engineer, was the first civilian to fly in space, and the only Soviet cosmonaut not to belong to the Communist Party. Feoktistov spent over 24 hours in space aboard the Voskhod-1 spacecraft, launched in October 12, 1964, alongside Command Pilot Vladimir Komarov and Medical Doctor Boris Yegorov.
