"A Caution and Warning to Great Britain and Her Colonies with Five Colonial Imprints: State of the Enslaved Negroes"
1766 to 1767-Dated, Lot of Five (5) Different Historical Colonial American Bound Imprints, Philadelphia, PA., Fine.
Five Individual Imprint Volumes, bound together into one master volume, having a 1/4 calf cover, measuring 6.75" x 4.25", comprising about 125 pages in total. It has worn boards with the rear cover present yet detached, haing some expected scattered misc. toning and foxing. The (5) Imprints are titled:

1. "The Emptiness and Vanity of A Life," Philadelphia: Henry Miller, 1767. Evans 10609.

2. "Daily Conversations with God," Philadelphia: Henry Miller, 1767. Evans 10659.

3. "An Extract from a Treatise By William Law..." Philadelphia: Henry Miller, 1766, (Daniel DeFoe). Evans 10352.

4. "The Dreadful Visitation ... Progress and Effects of the Plague, Philadelphia: Henry Miller, 1767. Evans 10599.

5. "A Caution and Warning to Great Britain and Her Colonies... State of the Enslaved Negroes," by Anthony Benezet, Philadelphia: Hall and Sellers, 1767. This example is lacking its last 4 pages, but does contain the half-title. Evans 10555.



There is an early owner's lengthy inscription is written on the rear pastedown. Ex-library with a bookplate on front pastedown. Overall, an interesting compendium of religious and spiritual views on political affairs of the 18th century, including the historic imprint by Anthony Benezet titiled, "A Caution and Warning to Great Britain and Her Colonies... State of the Enslaved Negroes." Cumulatively, a valuable bound set. (5 Imprints).
