Ancient Near East, Sumerian, ca. 3000 to 2500 BCE. Carved from a single piece of white stone, a seal or stamp in the form of a pig or other snouted animal with the remains of a darker stone or glass eye inlay, nicely contoured musculature, and incised markings on the verso - perforated from top to bottom behind the head for suspension or attachment. Size: 2.375" W x 1.125" H (6 cm x 2.9 cm)

Condition
Front face is very smooth to the touch. Some loss to eye inlay though some remains. Encrustations on verso and in the perforations. Visible root marks and nice stone inclusions.
