Description
Ancient Near East, Persia, Sassanian (also Sasanian, Sassanid) Empire, ca. 2nd to 7th century CE. A fabulous ensemble of 4 Sassanian stone stamp seal beads, each of hemispherical form with varying colors and incised designs, including a seated horse, a bearded male bust, a vase, and a linear motif. Faint remains of inscribed text surround the male bust. All are laterally drilled with a suspension hole for wearing as a bead or pendant. Size of largest (horse): 0.9" L x 0.5" W x 0.7" H (2.3 cm x 1.3 cm x 1.8 cm)
