ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE CREAMWARE CERAMIC WOMAN FIGURE sitting on a green base with dog and holding a basket of fruit, decorated in the round with Whieldon-type underglaze polychrome colors and open-bottomed. Second half 18th/early 19th century. 3 3/4" HOA.
Good visual condition, with some expected wear to raised areas, with a flake on dog's head, professional restoration, and minor flakes to underside of base. Minor firing flaws, as made.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA. All proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisition Fund.
