Description
ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC FIGURES, LOT OF TWO comprising a woman with hat and green dress, standing on a molded green base, with collection sticker attributing to Ralph Wood, Jr. and a man standing on a base with a tree and walking stick, having red polka dot stockings, and a collection sticker describing as "possibly Dick Whittington". Both decorated in the round, with Pratt-type polychrome colors, and open-bottomed. Late 18th/first quarter 19th century. 8 1/4" HOA.
Woman with hairline on hand; both with spots of paint loss, moderate chips and flakes, and glued repairs and/or areas of restoration. Some firing flaws, as made.
Provenance: Property deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA. All proceeds to benefit the Collections Acquisition Fund.
