Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Meiping or Plum Vase that has been skillfully painted. Thick Chinese porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, with a narrow base, wide body, slender neck easing to form a petite opening. The exterior decorated with hand painting in blue underglaze. Intertwined floral vines and blooms ensconce the entire exterior. Upper shoulder and lower rim are encircled with lotus petal patterns. The underside base left unglazed, reveal pale-creme with burnt grayish-orange spots in the firing. The vase glistens as the light bounces from the smooth exterior.


Mark on shoulder, a six underglaze blue script -KaiShu- characters reign mark, Made in The Years of XuanDe Reign Period of Great Ming.
