PROVENANCE:
From The private collection of Earl Sorensen, based out of Atlanta, is known as a prominent Asian Antiques collector. A International businessman whom trades with various Asian countries during the 1960s. On a business trip in Western China, he received a Buddha statue as gift from a monk. Since then, he has became fascinated with Chinese artifacts and Eastern cultures. After many decades, Earl Sorensen has planned his retirement, and decided to pass his beloved collections to appreciate collectors. Earl Sorensen's collections can be found from Lot-33 through Lot-65.

Chinese Ming Dynasty XuanDe Blue and White Lotus Porcelain Celestial Vase. Potted in celestial shape reward vase, thick and tall, globular lower body, cylindrical neck, close mouth rim, raised on a short small round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in yellow base colour which contrast against blue colour, depicted of abundant lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind.
