Native American, North America, Southwest, Arizona, Hohokam, ca. 600 to 1200 CE. A miniature carved stone paint mortar in the form of an adorable turtle - its round body serving as a shallow vessel, with a protruding head at one end and a tail at the other. Incised markings to side wall and tail. Size: 2.25" L x .75" H (5.7 cm x 1.9 cm)
