Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built and painstakingly modeled terracotta figure, standing with hands placed over the abdominal region, facing forward with an expressive countenance of incised and applied features, and clearly dressed to impress - wearing enormous openwork earspools, a turban-like headdress, a choker with a large pendant bead, pants or leggings with an incised intricate pattern, and a belt or sash with a twisted, rope-like pattern. Quite a special example! Size: 6.5" H (16.5 cm); 7" H (17.8 cm) on included custom stand.
