Northern Italy, Villanovan culture, ca. 9th to 8th century BCE. A large bronze fibula with an apple-shaped body, a curved neck with two pinched sections, an ovoid top section, and a lengthy fastening pin with a flared triangular terminal securing it to the upper portion. Covered in a dark-green patina, this is an attractive example of Villanovan craftsmanship! Size: 5.25" H (13.3 cm).
