Description
Abraham Lincoln: Allegorical Civil War Lithograph. 27" x 20" lithograph published in 1865 by Kimmel & Forster of New York, titled "The Outbreak of the Rebellion in the United States 1861." The traitors or bad guys are pictured on the left (Davis, Stephens, Buchanan, Floyd, rebel soldiers) while the good guys are shown on the right (Lincoln, Scott, supportive citizens). Lady Liberty and the dual-goddess of Justice & War appear in the center, stepping on the broken chains of slavery. Moderate toning with board-burn across the top. Would benefit greatly from a simple cleaning. No tears or repairs noted.
