Description
Asia Minor, Anatolia (modern-day Turkey), ca. 2nd to 1st millennium BCE. This attractive hammered bronze circular seal features a small semi-circular handle, a rough reverse-side surface, and a smooth obverse-side face with three distinct and finely-detailed imprinted figures: a man holding a trident on the left, a man holding a pole on the right, and both men are grasping the handles of an ornate urn with a monkey crouching atop the vessel. Size: 3.1" W x 0.75" H (7.9 cm x 1.9 cm).
