Charles Edison (1890-1969) Businessman, politician Edison was the son of inventor Thomas Edison, he had a prominent political career, serving as both Governor of New Jersey and United States Secretary of the Navy. Before entering politics, he established and managed a theater company and served as president of Thomas A. Edison, Inc. 8 ½” x 3 ½” financial document signed, Edison Storage Battery Company, January 21, 1921. The document is a promissory note, it is soiled with a tear in the left margin and the upper right corner missing, there is a cancellation stamp through the signature.
