J. & H. MEACHAM CIVIL WAR ERA BASS DRUM, elm shell, early red-painted surface, brass tacks to lap typical of Meacham drums, with two concentric circles around the air vent, and a diamond above and below the circles, printed paper label to interior reads in part "Military & Music Store / J. & H. Meacham / 84 State street, Albany", rope tension. Mid 19th century. 21 1/4" H, 23 3/4" D.
Excellent condition overall, minor losses to printed label, moderate split/tear to top head.
