16 1/2 in. dia., 14 7/8 in. tall, Civil War-era rope tension drum with wood body, red hoops, ropes and leather tabs (wear, top drumhead shows damage with attempt at repair and 3 3/8 in. tear, bottom drumhead with 8 in. tear and separation from drum body). Iron tack pattern surrounds drum hole. Internal label New York's "Wm. Hall & Son 239 Broadway." Penciled inscription on drumhead "[?] Ruddiman [?] / Astoria." -- Canvas and leather sling with eagle drum hanger, 30 1/2 in.
[Also with:] Two Civil War-era wooden drumsticks, each 15 1/2 in. (not a matching pair, scratches) -- Ebony drum sticks with metal handles, each 17.5 in. (scratches, tarnish to metal). -- Green canvas and leather drum carrying strap. -- Officer’s sword knot, approx. 17 in.
