Description
Ancient Greece, Mycenaean, ca. 1500 BCE. A wheel-made pottery stirrup jar of a classic Mycenaean form with a bulbous body, a short ring foot, conjoined twin handles, and a side spout. The vessel is comprised of buff clay painted with encircling bands in hues of black and a concentric circular pattern on the top pendant between the handles. An extremely fine example from approximately 1500 BCE, when Mycenae was at its peak of influence! Size: 4.625" W x 3.25" H (11.7 cm x 8.3 cm)
