Zachary Taylor: Six-sided Rockingham-style Pitcher. 8" molded, six-sided earthenware pitcher with brown glaze. An equestrian portrait of "Gen Taylor" is seen under the spout. Classical figures are placed around the neck while bands of flowers and acanthus leaves encircle below. The base has the maker's mark which we can unable to decipher. We believe the piece may have been produced in East Liverpool, Ohio. We have seen a similar pitcher where the portrait of Taylor is much smaller. This more desirable version is the only example we have encountered. One small chip on the spout; otherwise, excellent.
