A MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR ZACHARY TAYLOR GRAPHIC BANDANA, FOR PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDACY AND VICTORY, CIRCA 1848, cotton with blue, red, brown-black dye showing a central thirty star American flag waving over a portrait of Zachary Taylor in his General uniform, the corners with portrait reserves of Gen. Winfield Scott, Lt. Col. C.A. May, Gen. Wool, and Gen. Patterson within a double border of paisleys and geometric entrelac guilloche; 24" x 28", framed 30" x 33 1/2". Provenance: Collection of Hubert Hudson, former Texas Senator 1957-1963, Brownsville, Texas. Reference: Threads of History, Collins, plate 205.
