One canteen is a bullseye style standard issue Union Army canteen, with blue wool covering, and linen shoulder strap. Measures approx 8" in diameter, with a raised spout and stopper. Unverified manufacture date.

One canteen is a stamped metal Confederate Army style circular canteen, measuring approx 8 1/4" in diameter by 2" deep. Bears the raised stamps, "Alabama, and S&K on the verso." Raised spout, no stopper. Leather cord shoulder strap.

This lot is from the estate of a very well-known and well-respected lifetime Civil War collector in Upstate New York.
