(1756 - 1795) Merchant from Charleston and a delegate for South Carolina in the Continental Congress from 1785 to 1787. Kean advocated ratification of the Constitution at South Carolina's ratifying convention. A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Philadelphia, Oct. 31, 1793 to bankers LeRoy & Bayard. In part: "Enclosed you will find receive the four Notes which you were so obliging as to endorse for me amounting to three thousand dollars...transfer the funded debt...to Philip Livingston Esq. of Greenburg...". Uneven left margin else fine.
