Description
JOHN JOACHIM ZUBLY
(1724 - 1781) Swiss-born American pastor, a delegate for Georgia to the Continental Congress in 1775. He resisted independence from Great Britain and became a Loyalist resulting in the loss of half of his lands and his library being thrown into the Savannah River. Rare manuscript D.S. cut from a larger document but complete in itself, 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p., n.d.], a receipt for forty pounds paid to him, apparently in connection with the sale of a plot of land in Savannah. Fold split repaired on verso, marginal chips in corner at upper-left, else very good.
