[5] handwritten leaves of Torah thoughts related by the Admor of Gur, the "Beit Yisrael." Torah that he said during the festive meal on the first and second night of Rosh Hashanah, 1975.
Torah ideas said by the Admor, and recorded by his disciple. Includes novellae from Rabbi Hersh Ber the "melamed" in the house of Gur; ideas from Rabbi Mordechai Yosef of Izhbitza; Rabbi Moshel'a Wohler; ideas said over in the name of the disciples of the Besh"t regarding the "Zachreinu L'Chaim" supplication; a story regarding Rabbi Yisrael Itscha who ate the "sherayim" [leftovers] of the Sefat Emet. Once he ate a complete meal, because few other guests had arrived - a lesson that everything that had been prepared for the Admor's meal was considered his "sherayim";regarding confusing Satan; mussar regarding the Sacrifice of Isaach and more.
These Torah thoughts were never printed.
Rabbi Yisrael Alter [1895-1977] was the fifth Admor of Gur. He was known by the title of his work, the "Beit Yisrael." In 1948, after the death of his father, he was appointed Admor, and he gathered the chassidim who lived in Eretz Yisrael before the War and Holocaust survivors. He was also the president of the Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah.
