Description
Torah thoughts in the handwriting of Rabbi Shalom Yosef Elyashiv from the year 1956, on the annual festival of the 'Tiferet Bochurim' society.
"To all of the friends of Tiferet Bochurim who made an effort to come today to participate in the celebration of the annual festival...". Words of Aggadah regarding the generation of Chizkiyahu which was greater than the generations of Moshe and Yehoshua; the difference between Jews brought up in purity and holiness and those who were introduced to holiness at a later age; the challenges which a mitzva observant Jew faces in this period; as long as a person desires the Torah of G-d, all of the forces in the world will be unable to move him, and more.Â
We have not checked if the thoughts before us were previously printed.Â
Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv [1910-2012], born in the city of Siauliai, Lithuania, his parent's only son after 17 years of marriage. Immigrated with his family to Israel in 1924, and settled in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. Served as a Dayan on the Beit Din HaGadol and later became the foremost halachic ruler of the generation.Â
