Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv [1910-2012]. Born in the city of Siauliai, Lithuania, his parent's only child after 17 years of marriage. In 1924 he immigrated to Israel together with his family, who settled in the Meah Shearim neighborhood of Jerusalem. He served as a Dayan on the Great Rabbinical Court, and later became the most prominent Posek of the generation.
