Description
1. Medal on behalf of representatives of the Viennese Jewish community in honor of Joseph Ritter von Wertheimer (1800-1887), Viennese Jewish educator, community leader, and leader of the social struggle for equal rights for Austrian Jews. Vienna, 1867.
Obverse: portrait of Wertheimer and his name. Signed "C. Radnitzky". Reverse: Hebrew legend - "Faithful man of many blessings (Proverbs 28)" and "Dem Scheidenden Vorstands Praeses, Die Beamten" [the retiring chairman of the council]. Diameter: 44 mm.
2. Silver medal in memory of Salomon Hermann Mosenthal (1821-1877), German-Jewish author, playwright and poet, primarily active in Austria. Obverse: Mosenthal's portrait and name. Signed - "A. [Anton] Scharff". Reverse: Judith holding the head of Helifornes, with the title "Sarsum". Diameter: 56 mm.
3. Medal in memory of Mayer Rachmiel von Mises (1801-1891), merchant, politician, and a leading figure in the Jewish community of Lemberg (L'viv).
Obverse: portrait of von Mises and a German legend. Signed - "F. Pawlick Wein". Reverse: coat of arms of the von Mises family with the German legend "Seinem Andenken 1800 1891" [In memory, 1800 1891]. Diameter: 40 mm.
4. Silver medal (marked) in memory of Adolf Fischhof (1816-1893), Austrian-Jewish doctor, author and politician. Born in Hungary. Obverse: Fishhof's portrait, name and dates of life. Signed - "F. X. Pawlik". Reverse: a woman draping a bust of Fishhof with flowers. At her side is a winged cherub holding a torch. Diameter: 56 mm.
