Description
Egyptian, ca. 760-656 B.C. (25th Dynasty)
Blue / green glazed composition funerary scarab, perforated with holes around the body for stitching wings and body to the mummy wrappings. Scarab well defined on top, with no marks underneath. Dimensions: 2 1/4 inches L. x 1 1/2 inches W. (5.7 x 3.8 cm.)
Provenance: Ex- Bonham's London, September 2014, lot 221; Early American private collection, before 1980.
