Description
A large Egyptian faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, depicted mummiform on integral base, wearing tripartite wig and false beard, arms folded at chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, basket over left shoulder, vertical plinth at back; the front and sides of the legs with four horizontal bands of hieroglyphic text. Surface mineral deposits over light blue glaze. H: 6 2/5 in (16.3cm). Ex North Carolina private collection.
