Description
An Egyptian faience scarab with lion, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, an erect cobra before. 29 x 21 mm. Original light blue glaze worn down. Cf. Petrie Scarabs, pl. LXX:57 for back type; Ex Royal Athena Galleries, New York City; Ex Jonathan Rosen collection, New York, acquired March 1981.
