Copyright 1869 Jeremiah Curtis & Sons & John I. Brown & Sons. It was published continuously from 1865 to 1902.

Description: 32 page patent medicine pamphlet disguised as a cook book in the days before the FDA was established to police "patent medicine" makers, some of who used poisons like Strychnine as an ingredient in their "cure-alls." Lots of ads & testimonials for Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup, Brown's Bronchial Troches & other products of dubious medical benefit. Mrs. Winslow purported to be: "a Physician and nurse, who has compounded soothing syrups for children's ailments." She included household recipes in this publication which was issued annually from 1859 to 1879. Contains ads for many patent medicines as well as household hints & recipes for cooking, preserving, or "cures" like: "To Cure Diphtheria."
