Description
Egypt, Late Period, Dynasties 26-31, ca. 712 to 332 BCE. A nice faience ushabti, pale green in color, and depicted in mummiform, with his fisted hands holding agricultural implements, a seed bag over his left shoulder, his chin with characteristic braid, and his visage with nicely delineated facial features framed by a tripartite wig. Hieroglyphs on front, though largely unreadable, probably from Book of the Dead. Size: 4.625" H (11.7 cm)
Provenance: Ex - Jones collection, Boulder, CO, Ex-private European collection acquired at Hotel Druout, Paris, France in 2000.
