Description
Pre-Columbian, Northern Peru, Moche II /III ca. 300 to 400 CE. Fine pottery stirrup vessel - often used to store chicha, a type of early Native beer - in the form of a seated warrior. He wears a striped tunic and decorated textile cap, face tattooed, rounded crown holds his headband to his head. Size: 7.5" H (19 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private D. Jeppesen collection, acquired before 1982.
