Apparently unused 7'6" 4 oz. rod for a DT4 or WF5. In appearance the rod has the look of the Leonard Hunt models that Mr. Maxwell reintroduced during his tenure at that historic location. The cane is a beautifully flamed with golden nodes, and the wraps are maroon silk. Above the winding check wrap are 3 decorative bands or red silk, which is repeated above the male ferrule on each tip. Above the ferrule wrap on each tip are one and two dots, respectively, identifying each tip for the purpose of rotation. Grip is a slim 5" cork cigar taper, with a highly figured burl maple reel seat. Sliding band and butt cap are blued but without the gloss coating usually seen on hardware of this type, presenting a nicely understated appearance. Ferrules are blued nickel silver. Mr. Maxwell didn't use a die stamp or signature, satisfied that his work would be recognized by the presence of his iconic, India Ink top hatted caster used for so many years as the T&T logo. Ferrules are tight, with no evidence of clicking or other faults. Original bag with black anodized brass capped tube.
