Description
Africa, Benin and Dogon, Mali and Nigeria, ca. 19th to early 20th century. Nice lot of 4 bronze animal sculptures. Included is an early spotted feline - possibly a cheetah, larger Benin feline with animal in its mouth and swirl patterns all over its body, an ibex wearing two bronze necklaces and large waterfowl on stepped platform. Size for largest feline - Size: 3.375" L x 2" H (8.6 cm x 5.1 cm)
Provenance: Ex-Peter Arnovick collection. Mr. Arnovick was a well known and well respected dealer and collector of ancient and ethnographic arts from around the globe.
