Description
Benin foundry, Cameroon, Tall Cylindrical Bell with domed top, lost wax method cast coppery bronze, portrait of an Oba or ruler of the Edo people, with loop ears and sun symbol on forehead and cheeks; the handle in the form of a kneeling woman clutching her breasts, a snake climbing her chest, 15" x 4 1/2" diam., excuding ears. Lacking clapper.
