Prosper Lecourtier was a highly esteemed French sculptor renowned for his masterful depictions of animals. A pupil of Coutan and the celebrated animalier sculptor Fr?miet, Lecourtier received several medals exhibiting at the Salon during the latter part of the 19th Century, and was awarded a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. Born in France in the mid-19th century, Lecourtier displayed a remarkable talent for capturing the essence and movement of wildlife in his sculptures.
