Description
A choice Egyptian faience amulet of the goddess Nephthys, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, standing on rectangular integral base, exquisitely detailed, the goddess wearing a close-fitting gown and her characteristic headdress which are then hieroglyphs signifying her name, which were a combination of signs for the sacred temple enclosure (hwt) along with the sign for neb, or mistress (lady) which sits atop the enclosure sign. H: 30mm. The amulet is extremely well-preserved with sharp detail and nice light blue-green color. Hole for suspension at her shoulders through the vertical plinth. Ex collection of Dr. Michael A Telson.
