Description
A large Egyptian faience amulet of the goddess Isis, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, the goddess is depicted seated on her throne decorated with a reticular pattern, wearing tripartite wig and close-fitting gown, she suckles the infant Horus who site nude in her lap wearing characteristic side-lock of youth, vertical plinth down back. A nice example with good style, the goddess with delicate feature, and well-preserve light blue-green glaze. H: 4 1/8 in (10.5 cm) without stand. Mounted on an old wood base. Ex collection of Dr. Michael A Telson.
