This updated and revised 1972 reprint has a blue cloth hard cover and printed dust jacket, which depicts a medal showing George Washington and an Indian chief smoking a Peace Pipe. Published by N. Flayderman & Co. in New Milford, CT, this is the 1972 printing of the 1966 Revised Edition, measuring 11.25” x 8.75,” and containing 46 pages plus 22 plates and a frontispiece, which depicts an engraving of Red Jacket wearing his Indian Peace Medal. With its original pale blue dust jacket. The covers and spine are in choice condition with only the lightest wear on the bottom edges. The pages are clean, bright, tightly bound and in excellent condition. Dust jacket has some light wear soil and a short 2” tear along the lower front margin, smaller tear on the back. One of the earliest works on the subject, this is a standard classic work on the medals awarded by the American government to Native American Indian Chiefs. A nice quality copy.
