Description
Pre-Columbian, southern Peru, Nazca, ca. 300 to 500 CE. Interesting pottery bowl! Interesting pottery bowl! Rounded form with slightly everted rim, painted on lower register with series of smiling human heads - these are probably not trophy heads as they are smiling and their mouths' have not been sewn shut. Upper register is a mythical creature with eyes to the very sides of its body. The bowl was broken in antiquity and repaired. Size: 5.75" W x 3.25" H (14.6 cm x 8.3 cm)
