Description
Pre-Columbian, Mayan Territories, Honduras or El Salvador, ca 550 to 900 CE. Large pottery cylinder vase in blackware with numerous firing clouds giving it a multi-colored appearance. Glyph band circles around top and base, with bulbous midsection with repeating ribbing. Nice example! Size: 8-1/4"H x 6-1/2"D.
Provenance: Ex-private Santa Monica, CA collection; ex-private Hollywood, CA collection acquired 1972.
