A nice collection of seven documents from the celebration of the Centennial of the establishment of The First Federal Congress in the District of Columbia on March 4, 1789. Includes: a handsome engraved invitation for a reception at the Corcoran Gallery of Art given "in honor of the Governors of the States and Territories" on December 12, 1900; a copy of the printed text of "General Orders No. 2", 7pp. 5.5" x 9", December 1900, for the "organization, movement, and dismissal of the Centennial parade and escort to the President of the United States"; a listing of the chairs and vice-chairs for various centennial committees; and a 5p. red, white and blue ribbon-bound program for the receptions at the White House, Capitol, and Corcoran Art Gallery, printed in color on heavy cardstock with last three pages regrettably detached.
