New York Stock Exchange
New York, NY, ca. 1903
Invitation to New York Stock Exchange Opening, Produced by Tiffany & Co.
A rare example of an invitation to the opening of the New York Stock Exchange opening ceremonies held on April 23, 1903, engraved by Tiffany & Co. The invite reads: "The New York Stock Exchange requests the honor of the presence of C.D. Leverick at the ceremonies attending the opening of its new building in the City of New York on Wednesday morning April the twenty-second, 1903 at eleven o'clock." In fine condition. The rare invitation measures 9" x 6.5".

This is the first example of an invitation to the New York Stock Exchange we have had the privilege to offer.

As the stock market expanded, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) relocated to a new, larger building in 1903, designed by George B. Post. This building features a grand interior with Georgian marble walls, expansive windows, and a gilded ceiling that rises four stories above the trading floor. The prominent sculptor, John Quincy Adams Ward, crafted the pediment known as "Integrity Protecting the Works of Man." Today, the NYSE building is one of the most exclusive and sought-after event spaces in New York City, poised at the center of global financial markets.
