Description
Very rare Shashka, Russian Empire, Caucasus, circa 1900, Andrea Ferara "GURDA". The curved steel blade has three fullers on each side. Both sides of the blade are marked "sickles" and Andrea Ferera's inscription. Brown horn handle. The parts of the scabbard are made of silver and decorated with classical Caucasian ornaments made with the technique of engraving and niello. On the top of the scabbard, the owner's initials are engraved in Cyrillic letters A.M.G. The wooden scabbard is covered with the original black leather. A wonderful item for the antique sword collector.
