Description
An Austro-Hungarian sabre for officers of the Hussars, 18th centuryLong, sturdy single-edged blade (stained, pitted) with fuller on each side, three grooves and broad, upswept double-edged point, the base of the blade etched on both sides with symmetrical tendrils and blossoms. Brass knuckle-bow hilt with grip covered with black leather, the grip cap decorated on top with rocailles and blossoms in relief. In a scabbard with black leather cover, wooden centre and brass fittings decorated in relief on both sides (rocailles at the locket and chape), two movable suspension rings. Slightly damaged in places, traces of age. Length 99 cm. Well-balanced utility weapon of high-quality craftsmanship.Condition: II
