Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran / Turkey, Luristan, late Bronze to Iron Age, ca. 2000 to 600 BCE. A pair of ancient Luristan cast copper spear heads that could have been hafted to wooden poles by wrapping cords around the slender tang and the bent terminal tips may have prevented cord slippage. The longer one also has an extended shank / neck that could have also been a hand grip which enabled the spear tip to function as a standalone dagger weapon if it were to become separated from its pole during the heat of battle. Size of longer spear: 13.3" L x 1.3" W (33.8 cm x 3.3 cm)

The darker one has been recently polished, removing the patina and some of the mineral encrustations. The longer spear is not polished with green patina and minor chips to blade, otherwise intact.
