Ancient Near East, Northwestern Iran, Luristan, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A set of 2 cast-bronze spear tips, each of slender form with sharpened edges and a thick midrib. The bifacial weapons each taper down to a cylindrical socketing shaft, with the first blade terminating just below the midpoint, and the larger blade terminating nearly at its bottom. Spear tips like these were attached to the ends of lengthy wooden spears, making a solid spear for battles and fights. Size of largest: 12.625" L x 0.55" W (32.1 cm x 1.4 cm)

Condition
Both pieces with slight bending and damage around base of socketing shaft, with very slight bending to overall profiles, and light abrasions and earthen deposits, otherwise in great condition. Nice patina throughout.
