Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita - Tumaco, 350 BC to 350 AD. A fine hand-formed figure depicting a standing warrior holding a club dressed in a tunic. The warrior is adorned with a cuff bracelet, formed collar, and headdress. Hole in rear for pottery firing vent. This type of figure was typical for use in ceremonies and funeral burials. Size: 7 1??4” Tall, 3 5/8” Wide, 2 3??4” Deep. Loss of nose. Provenance: Louis DeLauro Collection, NYC; Quito State Museum, Ecuador, Bob Zeller Collection, SUNY University, NY
