Ancient Egyptian Isis w/Horus-Child Faience Amulet (ca. 700-30 BCE). Measures 1-9/16”H. Light blue glazed Late Period faience pottery amulet depicting the enthroned Isis suckling the baby Horus. The goddess wears a tripartite wig & she is seated upon a feather-patterned throne. The throne rests upon a rectangular base, and the amulet itself is displayed on a custom lucite base. Condition: Loss to the head and upper torso of Horus, Isis missing crown, chip on the front left corner of the base. Provenance: ex-Arte Primitivo; ex-estate of John J. Kania, Santa Fe, NM. Ex-Adams collection (Britain), acquired from Tetragon Gallery (London) in 2004, left to family by descent.
