Native American, Southwestern United States, Hopi, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. A hand-coiled and stitched circular plate /plaque with a turtle motif, made with native plants including yucca, bear grass, and/or Devils Claw. This piece was made especially for displaying on a wall and has a small loop for suspension. Size: 12" Diameter (30.5 cm)
Provenance: private Alamo, California, USA collection, acquired in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA in 1993
